Surprisingly enough, there are still companies that offer search engine submission services. Don’t laugh. Maybe this practice used to be effective back in 1998 but it’s certainly not effective in our days. The way to get your website listed in search engines is done by getting other websites link to yours. Nothing more. Nothing complex. How do you do that? If you have content that people want to share, then it’s a good idea to submit it in social bookmarking sites. You can also create profiles in some social media websites that allow you to provide a url that links to your site. There are also free directories that may be suitable for your website. Anything basically works except for the “submit to search engines” method.     Submitting to search engines is a waste of time, your site will be picked up naturally which can take less than a week. Submit to directories or exchange links is time far better spent.
