Brick and mortar retail relies heavily on local customers. More people are using the internet and their smart phones to find local retail shops. If a business is not listed in the most important online local directories, they are missing out on thousands of potential customers each day.

Obstacles:Giant Eagle had incredible brand recognition in its geographical market but many of their locations weren’t listed online, or showed outdated/incorrect information. The biggest obstacle was coordinating with Giant Eagle on the local online placement of hundreds of locations.

Our team already had a lot of experience with optimizing the presence of businesses through Google Maps, Yelp, Yahoo Maps and many others. Our team just had to scale our process to work with hundreds of Giant Eagle locations.
Giant Eagle was able to provide our team with the general geographic and operating information for each location. Our team took this information and ensured it was optimized for search engine placement. We optimized the data by choosing the best categories and keywords. Once we had all of the data optimized, our team began publishing the information to the most important local online directories.
Result:Shortly after the listings went live, we noticed that more customers were getting the location information directly from Google, rather than having to dig through the Giant Eagle website. This resulted in a better user experience for those customers who just needed the address or phone number of the most convenient location.
