We’ve been working hard on making SEOzio a great website analysis tool for both those who are not SEO savvy and those who are. The more challenging of the two is convincing SEO experts that the results generated by our tool are trustworthy. The first step we did to ensure that our results are trustworthy was pull data from some of the most trustworthy APIs available. The second step was to test and tweak our algorithm over and over again, kinda like how Google does, until the results are exactly what we’d expect.
Just last week I decided to do an experiment analyzing 80 different websites that were within the same industry and had publicly available traffic data. I used Quantcast Planner to find traffic levels for websites in the Real Estate industry. I chose 10 websites that had approximately 1,000 visits last month, another 10 sites that had 20,000 visits last month, up-to 10 sites that had 5,000,000 visits last month. Then I calculated the average SEOzio score of each group of websites. The result is the graphic below;
As we can see from this chart the sites that had more visitors on average also had a higher SEOzio score. This was great to see because SEOzio currently does not take your number of visitors into consideration, we are purely looking at SEO factors. You could also assume by looking at this chart that site’s that are more optimized also have more visibility, which results in more traffic.
The results of this test where extremely pleasing because we really want to make SEOzio a tool you can can’t count on.
