SEO Video: How Search Engine Bots See Your Website

When designing a website, keep in mind that search engines don’t “see” your website the way you do. Search engine bots (software that crawls through websites across the web moving from link to link) read basically what we call “page source”. In that sense, you should expect that images and flash objects, even if they are pleasing and very meaningful to the the human eye, they may be sort of invisible by the search engine spiders. There are html tags that help us describe the content included in images but they cannot compensate the full effect that images or flash have to users. In this video, Chris Hornak uses a sample site that is image-heavy to show how it is seen from the eyes of a search engine. In order to do that, he uses SEO-Browser.com, an essential tool for anyone who wants to optimize a website.
